In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?


           Conventions of a film opening includes:


  • The production company logo
  • The distribution company logo
  • A title sequence telling us who stars in the film
  • Introduces they key characters of the film
  • Potentially key locations established through an establishing shot
  • The mood and tone of the film is shown as it may make the audience frightened or interested
  • The music helps set the tone such as 'eerie music' or 'violins'
  • some of the narrative is set up
  • And hooks the audience into the film
