Types of title openings:
A discrete film opening is when the images, shots and scenes are apart from the titles. Some of these contain elements that include indicators of the plot of the film and give us a little clue as to what it might be about. This is not part of the narrative.Titles that stand over a black screen during film openings are called 'Stand Alone' titles which lead to the opening of the film. Usually with white writing as you wont be able to see the titles with black writing on a black background.
A Narrative title opening is when the titles run throughout the opening and they are either intercut or super imposed.
