Evaluation Question 2

Representation is how something or someone is shown to the audience.

The thriller that we had made represents more of a disability aspect rather than the other categories, i will explain more in the following vlog and pictures.

This is an example of a camera shot, it is a close up of the character and as you can see it is a shot of the camera spinning around the character which fits with the characters representation of a mental health issues as it conveys that her head is not clear and that it is like there are voices spinning around her.
This is shows the dark lighting that we had used to create quite a dark mood and to fulfil suspense with the audience as they want to indulge into the film wanting to know what will happen next and why it is such a dark setting.

The mise en scene in this clip is at a canal, where the area itself looks quite gloomy and is the perfect setting for a thriller as it can get the audience to trigger thoughts of usual thriller films being placed in scary, dark areas such as the canal.

Here we added an effect to create a dark lighting to the scene to give off a chilling effect to the audience, this also adds to the characteristic of the protagonist having mental health issues as it gives off as it could be reflecting the dark thoughts of the character.

Here we have put two clips together to overlap each other showing that the clip of the pictures on fire is what is going through the characters mind and that she is constantly going through this trauma.

This setting helps add to the characteristic of the mental disability as commonly in TV Dramas or Films the character who is schizophrenic would often go to secluded dark places such as a forest, which can add to the isolation they feel in their mind.

The light in this part of the opening contrasts with the rest as the other parts are quite dark and have a dull lighting whereas this part is quite bright which can portray that the characters mood often changes and I think this was a quite strong decision that the group has made to make this part light as it shows the normality of the character in her everyday life but in the other parts it conveys her disability with the darkness and psychotic actions.

I felt that this clip was very strong as the lighting, mise en scene, and the atmosphere of the clip gave a dark eerie mood for the audience as it shows her going totally insane and the lights moving while she moves portrays the insane thoughts going through her mind and how she wants to get them out.
