Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Representation is ......
The social group are thriller represents is teenagers. The main character is a young teenage girl.
Are social group relates back to gender, female. Also age, young girl, 16-18. The main aspect would be disability as our main character suffers from schizophrenia, mental issues.
Through camera work we have shown are character mental issue using various different shots and angles. Firstly, we have used a spinning shot using a dolly, where the camera is going around the character. This is to show her disturbed mental state, and how she is going mad. It gives audiences an almost physical, visual insight of what she is going through. Also we have used close ups, of props such as pills, blade to show their importance as these objects can cause death. Close ups of facial features such as eyes shows distress in them.
Editing has also played a major role to portray the characters metal health. Firstly, when the camera was going around her head, and the bedroom scene we made these parts faster to emphasise her acceeding into madness. We made the whole end part faster with quick shots so that it is more triggering, and again portrays the characters unstable mental health, she's unable to focus, too much going on in her head. Similarly we had made certain parts slower, like the running scene to .......
Lighting we had mix of lighting, certain scenes for example when she is going crazy, we have a dark gloomy lighting in order to represent the dark
Flickering lamp whats going on in her head, stereo typical teenagers, schizophrenia patient, just showing she needs help, medium long shots in forest to show she is vulnerabe
Stereo typical in a sense as woemn are mainly choosen as a victem, a weakling in a sense but this isn't what we wanted to represent
